TPACK- Conceptual Framework
The TPACK is the Conceptual Framework that all teachers and future teachers should strive to follow. The focus of the TPCAK is content, pedagogy and technology. TPACK stands for Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge. There are seven components to the TPACK they are: 1. Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge which has 4 elements to it. They are: a. the candidate uses technology to analyze and present information to the students. b. The candidate has good oral and written communication skills. c. The candidate designs and delivers multiple types of assessments. d. The candidate researches and designs an effective learning environment. 2.Technological Knowledge is when the candidate models and teaches the students how to use the digital information and technology safely and appropriately. 3. Technological Content Knowledge is when the candidate uses diversity in their lesson plans and incorporates technology. 4. Content Knowledge has two elements and they are: a. The candidate focuses on the subject content and academics when planning lesson plans. b. The candidate implements interdisciplinary units. 5. Pedagogical Content Knowledge has four elements and they are: a. The candidate bases his or her decisions on data. b. The candidate converses with other teachers or principals to come up with strategies to create an effective learning environment. c. The candidate creates lesson plans to meet every students needs. d. The candidate takes time to reflect on their teaching in order to reach every student. 6. Pedagogical Knowledge has two elements and they are: a. The candidate acts in a professional and follows the state standards. b. The candidate continues his or her education to ensure that they are taking advantage of every opportunity. 7. Technological Pedagogical Knowledge is when the candidate uses technological to communicate with other such as parents or teachers.
The TPACK to me as a guideline for teachers to follow and always know what is expected of them. It is a great way to be aware of how a teacher should conduct themselves and how to create an effective learning environment.
